Lies reality
A place some love, and,
Others prefer not to be

Closing of the eyes
Is a temporary escape
Escape of life’s tragedies
Suicide, murder, and rape

When you’re caught awake
Unable to sleep
Pop some sleeping pills
An escape more deep

The dreamers are guilty
Of being out of touch
“They have their heads in the clouds,
Fantasizing way too much”

Is it possible the dreamers are tired,
Of the world and it’s current state
They escape to a far off land
Where they are able to pick their fate

For the ones that reality
Is better than a dream
They are by far lucky
Or so that’s how it seems

The two decisions
Are placed in front of you
Where would you like to go?
What would you like to do?

Dream or reality
Pick whichever is best
Choose what makes you happy
Living or deep rest

Deep in dreamland
Lies reality,
A place some love, and,
Others prefer not to be [comments] => 3 [counter] => 210 [topic] => 14 [informant] => dreamer_for_eternity [notes] => [ihome] => 0 [alanguage] => english [acomm] => 0 [haspoll] => 0 [pollID] => 0 [score] => 12 [ratings] => 3 [editpoem] => 1 [associated] => [topicname] => DreamsandWishes )

Hmmm, I really like this, but for one thing...
The line about the sleeping pills just doesn't sit right with me..I dunno...like it lessens the poem somehow.

This is a gorgeous poem though, with or without those few lines.

So, great write,
*hugs* Phil xxx

I can relate to this poem, dreaming is sometimes far greater than real life, but we must all come to face reality sometime...
