I long for what I cannot have,
And I'm left to be sad.
My visage smiles at me
Knowing that dreams

Do come true
Since things are reversed
When you look at you.
Reality is perverse

When you see both sides
That are only lies
Of what you can never have,
And I still long to be sad.

I have no want for what I never had.
I want more than that. [comments] => 12 [counter] => 324 [topic] => 43 [informant] => Essentially9 [notes] => [ihome] => 0 [alanguage] => english [acomm] => 0 [haspoll] => 0 [pollID] => 0 [score] => 30 [ratings] => 6 [editpoem] => 1 [associated] => [topicname] => oops )

I have no want for what I never had. I want more than that.

I love this quote. Long for all you want. If you never had any of the things you wanted then you certainly deserve much more than that.

Rita

This poem very effectively weaves back and forth between believing she can't have....then can have...to finally..."I want more than that.

Very effective style, well done

*sigh*

I have been missing out, it seems.

I am glad I got to read this Jen.

I really like how the first stanza goes into the second one. Sometimes, when people do like you did it can look sloppy. You did it well though.

Good write my friend,
I can relate more than you could probably guess.

*hugs* Phil xxx

Very in-your-face blunt, this one...I really like it! The flow is excellent, and sweeps your powerful feelings right along in this fine write.
Your ending, as usual, never fails---it's killer : )
