so openly presented

my eyes are caught in a transfixed gaze

theres something so beautiful and broken

about this half torn picture of you and me

i dont recall the time or place

or even when we took it

but there it is

and there we sit

shattered glass lies at our feet

and its caught our attention

yet its not the glass in which our attention lies

but instead the reflection of each others eyes.

beside us lies the ocean, dangerous and proud

and on your wall

in your front hall

lies this beautiful metaphor

of you and me

im not sure what it means but its left a knot quivering in my throat

and good or bad my tears emerge

all i know is im no where to be found when im without you,

....y o u a r e m y g r o u n d....

and just as my knees falter and begin to bend

from the weight that i bravely carry in my heart

you place your hand in mine

i know that its forever and we're not meant to be apart.

Wow! Great write! I love the part with the broken glass and I the fact that you switch from where the picture is to what it is of and then what it means to you..it really is a beautiful metaphor..Great work, keep it up!
