And time stood still
For a moment in your eyes
Surpassing all fears
Of hurt, sex and lies
Never so pleased
In a short lived dream
And I’ll sleep here forever
To remember that gleam
The way you read my heart
Has left its tender mark
Even at your weakest
I see you through the dark
But our time has had its moment
Now just a passing flame
Never to be forgotten
Because we’ll never be the same
