Death can be better then life
for people take your death to heart
and remember your life, Life is
always their and people take
it for granted, Death is the end
of a life forever, Life is just another
day for people to forget about,

Why is our life’s this way, Why
do we wait tell death to honor a
life, We need to live everyday
like it is our last,

Why can I be over in Iraq and
Not get a call from certain friends
For 2 months, If I died they’d all
Show up claiming they new me,
Life can show us our true friends
the hard way, Sad can be happy for
memories are sweet whether they
hurt or not they bring strength, Pain
can be bitter but happiness can be
found in grief,

But why wait for death to enjoy the
sweet joys found in life, Death is only
bitter when you missed the joys of that
life,

So take pride in your Love, Friends
and Family, All will die but will you
rejoice in their life or only remember
their death, If we were their for their
life and love we never will have to
Morn their death, Death is sad but their
life should live on forever, I pray my
death be forgotten for it was not life,
Remember the way we lived not the way
we died, Memories can be beautiful if
only you let them live, Dwell on the
thoughts of a living soul event after death,
So they may live on forever through your
dreams, Much love forever to my true
friends and brothers who gave their lives
for their fellow Comrades and their
country, You will be remembered forever
in my heart.

I honor and pray for all the men and women overseas fighting for our country. Whether I agree with this war or not, I still honor the military men and women and their families sitting at home awaiting their return. God bless you all, deceased and alive. May the spirit of the Lord always live within you.

Rita

I think this poem starts well but in the end the constant use of 'life' and 'death' didn't really work.
