he wasn't what they planned
the simplest of situations
he couldn't understand

the babe's out of the diaper
but he certaintly is hyper
he is so self-absorbed
marches to his own piper

kindergarten's a nightmare
he couldn't survive there
he toppled over his desks
parents start to despair

high school saw studies
'cause he had no buddies
kids waited in ambush and
he fights back and bloodies

there's a brief stint in college
pursuing computer knowledge
but falsely accused of cheating
lost his study privilege

he's sent into the workforce
and with parents divorce
he's ill equipped for this life
but they show no remorse

because he refuses to grow up
and their god to worship
his mom moves away and
dad returns to europe

then an angel fell from heaven
and his heart it did quicken
but she repudiated him
like he was the worst toxin

At various jobs, he's a joke
socially such a slowpoke
they think he's retarded
his employment they revoke

He gets married too fast
they all know it won't last
the divorce, it does come
and that life's in the past

Not until he sires a son
who's got a worse malfunction
they're both damaged goods
the legacy of this one

This was entirely moving, and I know someone who could tell a similar story. All of a life history encapsulated in one work. Nice job! J.
