Array ( [sid] => 96007 [catid] => 1 [aid] => mick [title] => Lilac Bushes in the Rain [time] => 2005-05-27 21:15:58 [hometext] => I just wrote this tonight. Me and my best friend Niki are having a sleep over and we went for a walk and danced in the rain [bodytext] => Lying in a lilac bush with you,
Watching as the clouds go by, gray, pink, and blue,
Holding close and holding tight,
How beautiful it is tonight,
Lying here in the growing darkness with you,
Perfect and naked listening to the robin’s tune,
Lying on the soft mat of grass, green and new,
A breeze wafts the smell of lilacs,
The small lavender petals swirl all around us,
A whimsical dance they display until one of the dancers get caught,
Vines of gold, tresses of auburn, consume the gentle flower,
You gently pluck the lilac and toss it away,
I smile as it begins to rain,
I get up and twirl around,
You watch with glowing eyes, like a film with no sound,
Drops of crystal light slide down my breast,
Dewy rain covers my hair and chest,
You stare at me and I at you,
Laying here as the world cries itself new,
Love is not complicated but simple and true,
Simple lovely words like I love you,
A midsummer’s dream,
The moon in June,
Unfortunately it all has to end so soon,
To leave and to mourn,
With a heavy heart that is torn,
But worries are not here, they never were,
Life is but a simple lesson to learn,
We shall come back again,
To lie together and always be the best of friends. [comments] => 4 [counter] => 143 [topic] => 27 [informant] => Kitty06 [notes] => [ihome] => 0 [alanguage] => english [acomm] => 0 [haspoll] => 0 [pollID] => 0 [score] => 5 [ratings] => 1 [editpoem] => 0 [associated] => [topicname] => NaturePoetry )

This is a lovely write. Enjoy youth while you can. I am totally grown and I love playing in the rain. Something about it makes you feel so clean and fresh. Purity at its finest.

wow, what a great poem, the story told was so vivid.
it is a reminder too, that many good things unfourtunately end, but there is usually an opportunity for them to begin again.
