Pity has taken over
When I look upon you
A body without a soul
Is what all I can see

So shallow and fake
Is this Character
You hold so dear
And call the true me

"I love you baby"
Is all you can say
All this anger and hate
Is that love, I ask

Aware of what you do
To this lifeless body
You say you keep
Forever in your heart
Without the love it needs

This body is tired
Of your hate you see
The mind takes over
Making sense in war

Still hear you say
"My way or the Highway"
Ever so tired of it all
Your way comes to an end,
I choose the Highway

The light I choose
A brighter place to be
Freeing me spirit
Like a horse run free

Oh how this Highway
Feels so good to keep
I say to you and see
The souless person
You portrait not to be [comments] => 5 [counter] => 159 [topic] => 48 [informant] => xXx_Fem_Fatale_xXx [notes] => [ihome] => 0 [alanguage] => english [acomm] => 0 [haspoll] => 0 [pollID] => 0 [score] => 9 [ratings] => 2 [editpoem] => 1 [associated] => [topicname] => EmotionalPoetry )

I'm sorry that you've been in a hurtful relationship, it seems every other person I talked to has been in one. I think your poem has a strong emotional foundation and the reference to the free horse is a wonderful metaphor to freedom. However your rhythm was a little confusing and I think you should elaborate a little more on the lines about being free like a horse. I think you could do amazing things with that part of your poem.

Wow, this is powerful. I sense the freedom coming forth in the horse and running free down the path of life. Casting off the shroud of pain and abuse. I say ' more power to you my dear'. No one should live without love and respect.

Smiles,
Rita

Wow. Powerful and strong...both you and the poem. Once again you bring the emotions to life. Very well scripted and penned. I could feel the emotion in this and you galloping away.
