Behind the flowerpot she took a peek
There she saw a mouse so small
He stood and was all of six inches tall

My names is Amos and I declare
I wish that cat would quit its stare
Granny asked politely the cat to leave
The cat was hungry she did believe

Amos was the Uncle to many
His favorite niece was named Penney
He had lived on a farm in Maine
Until he ended up hiding on a train

Now here he was in Boulder
And he was always looking over his shoulder
For many scrapes he had run from
That is how he ended up here behind the Mum

Granny felt sorry for Amos so lost
And mailed him back to the farm at her own cost
He sent her; a letter telling her he arrived safe
And sent a picture of Penney what a lovely little waif

Keep 'em coming Shari.......your imagination is soaring and roaring. This was so cute. I once had a mouse in my electric stove, and I know.........I should have gotten rid of him, but I let go. He had built a nice little house under my one control. We were very careful not to turn that one on. He left in the spring! I was never lonely in the kitchen..........as long as I knew he was there snoozing!
Warm Love to a great Granny Heard Story maker
