Goodbye To You

Contributed by Savannah on Wednesday, 1st January 2003 @ 09:00:00 PM in AEST
Topic: SadPoetry

For so long it was you
Tears for you
Laughs for you
Smiles for you
But then suddenly
Without my consent
The chance was lost
So now it's all changed
My tears are for me
My laughs are for me
My smiles are for me
And each breath I take
Is my own
And although the sound
Doesn't reach your ears
If you were to listen
You would hear
A soft, confident voice
In my every breath
And it would be whispering
Goodbye To You

I think this is a beautifully written poem, pulled straight from your heart, and I enjoyed reading it. Thanks for sharing!

This is a very sad but emotive piece. You have a great heart and the pain can be felt.

Mmmm ... I wish I could be at that place that you are at! A wonderful, peaceful place. So well written and describes perfectly what it could be like to let go of love.
