Array ( [sid] => 95898 [catid] => 1 [aid] => mick [title] => Silent Crimson Night [time] => 2005-05-26 21:11:09 [hometext] => I wrote this for an assignment in my English class that specifically was designed to be a suicide poem for the book Death of a Salesman, I have no intention of killing myself, and I'm quite happy, so no worries my readers! ^_^ [bodytext] => Pounding and reeling
The endless strain unbearable now
Thinking, speaking, and feeling
It’s all too painful and impossible anyhow

I open the drawer and reach inside
I cut my finger on something sharp
As the blood drips I smile wide
Light flashes on a cold tool of death, a sharp twang of tendons strung tight as those of a harp

A stinging bittersweet relief spreads and seeps
I touch the scarlet tears upon my wrists
Drip, drip onto the white carpet the evil creeps
I slump and fall to the floor, awaiting the silent bliss

Too long have I gone with this burdening sorrow
Being of the flesh is a harrowing curse
Happy am I, they’ll find me, too late tomorrow
Too late for the ambulance, instead they call a hearse

Sad faces stare at the ashen one that was mine
Ugly, blemished and imperfect
How I had always wanted to be fine
They are all shamed by my tragic incident

What have we done?
Where did we go wrong?
What happened when she used to laugh and have fun?
Remember when she made up that cute little song?

I see it all clearly as the blood drips down
Each bad thing wrapped in the drops
They’ll be upset, but that’s not my problem now
Death is waiting, on the door he knocks

Deliver me oh silent death
Take me away from this world apart
My lips part, my soul escapes with my last breath
The crimson river ends, and be still is my heart
Hush now, be still in the awaiting dark [comments] => 3 [counter] => 181 [topic] => 36 [informant] => Kitty06 [notes] => [ihome] => 0 [alanguage] => english [acomm] => 0 [haspoll] => 0 [pollID] => 0 [score] => 4 [ratings] => 1 [editpoem] => 0 [associated] => [topicname] => Suicide )

Wow... after the second stanza a smile crept
across my face, a few lines later my mouth
was wide open in awe, and by the end of this
masterpiece my shirt was soaked with drool.
I have never read Death of a Salesman
although I think i will after reading this write. I
absolutely loved this all the more I think
because you don't actually feel this way. This
was GREAT seriously I loved this.
