It wasn't me by your side, it wasn't right.
It broke my heart to see you so near,
But I cut off my river and won't shed a tear.
I'm stronger than that can't you see?
I can handle anything, because thats just me.

But you see things differently, you know the truth,
I can't live without you and these poems are the proof.
The pain is still fresh, my heart still hurts,
I'll do anything to get you, whatever works.
They say if I love you I'll let you go,
But its so hard to do, I can't, NO....NO.
I do love you so I pretend not to care,
Don't let yourself cry, Cassie, don't you dare.
I choke back sobs that wish to break free,
I know I can handle this because thats just me.

But then I saw your two lips meet,
I saw the closeness of your bodies, I felt the heat.
I can't handle this anymore its too much to bear,
This huge burden is more that I can wear.
Why can't we travel in time and erase the past,
I would try so hard to make our love last.
I turn and I see the two of you leave,
I want to run after you and beg and plead.
But I swallow my tears and hold my pain inside,
Even though in seeing you with her a part of me died.
I won't let you in, I wont let you see,
I can handle this **** because that’s just me.

Wow. Awesome. I can agree with you on that, really. My boyfriend recently told me he had practice and couldn't go to prom with me. So I let it go, he's in a band and they practice all the time. My sister who went to prom called me and told me he was there. I went to the place where prom was being held and witnessed him dirty dancing and kissing some girl i'd never met before. I didn't cry, I held it all inside. And I wrote bad poetry like yours.. keep up the good work though. Read some of mine if you'd like.
