Array ( [sid] => 95516 [catid] => 1 [aid] => mick [title] => Magnetar [time] => 2005-05-23 19:37:48 [hometext] => This is not a poem, it's just a story, I didn't care to put it in a poem format yet, but it's good. [bodytext] => A magnetic star fell from the sky one night to rest in pieces in the depths of two young hearts. The magnetar landed in the heart of a girl. The energy from the exploding magnetar flew from her heart to the heart of a guy who looked at her as they were walking along the sidewalk one night. The guy held her gaze steady as she slowed and came to a stop beside him. The beat of their hearts started to escalate as the magnetar’s energy came to life. From that point on they began to date.

They were happy as can be if you tossed them a casual glance, but if you looked real hard, to the inside, you would see that their lives weren’t just a piece of cake. The girl was very troubled and there were a lot of problems she dwelled upon. The guy was well-to-do; everything was going perfectly for him. His whole life was smooth sailing. The girl did every kind of drug known to man and drank alcohol and occasionally shoplifted from every store in town. She got the guy to join her in her illegal activity. The guy realized how much his life had changed from perfect to painful and he knew what he’d been doing was wrong, but he just couldn’t stop his ways. He loved the girl too much to let her go. He tried to get her to stop but the arguments always ended right back where they started.

One night the guy started beating the girl. The girl fought back, but pretty soon she got worn out and couldn’t protect herself anymore, and when he saw her cry for the first time in his life since he met her, he apologized. It was that simple. She accepted his apology and they spent the rest of the night talking things out. After dating for so long, they both realized how messed up their lives were and they both now had problems with depression. So many things have been going wrong for both of them; things they couldn’t fix, and things they could never take to someone else. They were in this alone. By morning, before the sun showed its face above the horizon, they had decided to die together. They thought they would be happier because all of the hurt would go away and they could be together forever.

As the birds were singing their songs to the world, their love for each other became permanent. And when their souls left their bodies the magnetic star in their hearts was set free and it started floating up toward the heavens. But it never made it to its destination. It got stuck in the sky and there it stays until the end of time. The brightest star in the sky.
