[title] => If Only Life Were Different

[hometext] => I decided to write a blues poem, just to experiment with a new genre.
[bodytext] => I’ve got a certain type of blues Those blues where every ray of sunshine is hidden, Covered by a storming fleet of clouds. Real happiness seems to be forbidden. Most of my time is spent down in the dirt Every time someone walks by I hope they’ll be kind and pull me up off the ground. When they don’t, I stare up and think “Why?” But whenever I grab a caring hand It lifts me a bit, then drops me down. The fading footsteps linger in my ears I wish I were walking, strolling all around I feel the sensation of dust in my throat. I’m choking to death, baby ! I need to get up and get out Maybe I will someday, just maybe. I stare into the sky and I wish. I wish I could have the power to fly, All day and all night with the birds. Above reality, above the dirt, up high. I’d give everyone everything they need If only I got a hand up. If only I flew, If only I could rise up, If only I could stop feeling quite so blue.
