Almost got her hair caught in that dirty lock of hers
Mother tailing her on a bike
A basket filled with clothes
A suitcase held with care
A pile of sadness left in a heap slowly following behind
Blades that don’t go any faster
Because her legs were way too weak
From all of the pressure that stabbed her as she went down the street
Every day
Running away
Picking little apples off of the floor
To fill her tummy with what it craves
Knowing that she’ll be caught again
She always does
They know her too well
She can’t hide
They want her way too bad
To let her get away [comments] => 3 [counter] => 205 [topic] => 65 [informant] => Pyrofungus [notes] => [ihome] => 0 [alanguage] => english [acomm] => 0 [haspoll] => 0 [pollID] => 0 [score] => 10 [ratings] => 2 [editpoem] => 0 [associated] => [topicname] => toughstuff )

A sad, deeply expressed and well written poem. The stark reminder of our struggles in everyday life. We run away from them only to be caught up with them again. Well done on a great piece of poetry.
*hugs*

I know what you mean, but atleast if they are flawed that they are willing to come after you and work things out. Running only makes problems worse. I think you know that. Great write.

Yes, I did that so many times, but in my heart I always want to come back home, and I do too.
