Array ( [sid] => 94311 [catid] => 1 [aid] => mick [title] => Mommy [time] => 2005-05-13 21:20:10 [hometext] => I wrote this about my mother because my dad has belittled her for so long that she is no longer strong and I want to get out of this house but I don't think that she could survive without me! [bodytext] => I love you in heart and head,
I'll love you until the world is dead.
I just don't know if you can be alone,
Or will you remain in stone?
I've seen the bruises on your face,
You act like YOUR the disgrace.
I've seen the tears fall from your eyes,
All because of stupid lies.
I've never seen a smile forreal,
To me that IS a big deal.
All the years I have been here,
You never saw one of my tears.
I cried though because of your pain,
Even though I was not to blame.
I was strong JUST for YOU,
Although it didn't do.
My tears stopped falling years ago,
I hate how he made you feel so low.
Never think I really hate you,
I sometimes think I do!
I will help you no matter what,
Until he knocks me on my butt and I am afraid to get up.
I love you mom, more then life,
You have never been the one I blame for my strife! So take her with you. There are women's shelters everywhere that will help you both get on your feet. Help you get a job, clothes, a place to live. No one should have to live like that. Go find a better life.

I loved your poem. Please remember two things that GOD gave us all, his son JESUS and the ability to make choices. You and your mom can CHOOSE to get out of there. Good luck, I'll pray for the both of you.

I'm sorry you've had to grow up trying to protect your parent, instead of vice versa. If you can get your mom to leave and get help, do that. But, you can't make her choices for her. She has her reasons for taking abuse, and to stay in it. Have you asked her why? Have you read her this poem? It's so hard to give advice on what to do, but you cannot stay and watch it continue. As much as you love her, she needs to love herself!
