SOMEDAY

Contributed by SPSM on Friday, 13th May 2005 @ 08:54:48 AM in AEST
Topic: oops

When you see a small child crying because she痴 hungry, or you see that child痴 mother defeated because she can稚 get food. You値l know how inconsequential your problems are.

When you致e watched a family waiting at a Church to get toys for their kids at Christmas. You値l know what humbleness is.

When you see a youth group collecting coats for the homeless and needy, or selling bake goods on sidewalks for sick children. You値l know the meaning of compassion and empathy.

When you see the joy on a grandmothers face, because you went to visit or you told her you loved her. You値l know unconditional love.

When you visit a nursing home for a church service, or at Christmas to sing carols. You値l know what loneliness, hopelessness, and despair are.

When you hear of an infant found in a garbage bin, see a kitten or puppy left on the side of the road. You値l know what abandonment is.

When you visit a hospital knowing somewhere, down one of those halls, a soul is going to take flight. You値l know what sadness is, but also what peace is.

When you are able to appreciate all aspects of life, to understand that good comes with evil, that life is an exercise of both. You値l know what living is.

SharonM

Written for my daughters, that they may look at the world with new eyes, and know how fortunate they are.

Excellent write. One I can relate to. I've seen several of those events, but you've put a new prespective on them for me now. Your daughters are lucky to have such a compassionate mother. Tyra

Sharon, this is absolutely brilliant. I am goint to read it to my grandsons when they come this weekend and if you don't mind I would like to print a copy out for myself. Let me know if it is alright with you. I would love to put it in my prayer book for my spirits to see.

Hugs,
Rita
