Tortured mind, a war there rages
good and bad in force engages
damn the reasons, fight the fight
steal the silence of the night
scream and kill and run them through
break the bonds of blood in two
for no more than foolish pride
pick a king and choose your side

Smell the powder from the guns
see the good sense as it runs
far away, a cowards act
plead for truce, a Satan's pact
break the back and gouge the eye
hear the spirits as they cry
bribe for peace with stolen gold
while the flags of hate unfold.

I believe war to always be "a Satan's pact."
It never brings peace. War only brings domination and more hatred.

Great piece, Larry,
Rita

Makes a damned good amount of sense to me. Very well written, it does indeed feel this way sometimes.

This was awesome Larry I love how
whatever subject you write about it turns out
equally good. The first two lines of the
second stanza just blew me away. A very
intense write here.
