Array ( [sid] => 9411 [catid] => 1 [aid] => Mick [title] => Music Clubs… Why ban certain clothes… (It’s not right) [time] => 2002-12-29 17:00:00 [hometext] => I’m up set with some statements I read on a local chat forum in my community, about some local dance clubs banning certain clothing, which to me is very stupid and wrong. For I feel whatever the reasons or who or what kind of folks that cause problems, will just wear something else and do what they do. And what… are they going to ban those clothes too, because the music makes them do that? I don’t frequent these clubs, but I do feel, That IF I was a paying patron, dressed in my hiking gear, as I do walk four miles to work, and back again, decided to stop for a rest, (not really, but just a point, ok) I would be banned, because of what I wore, the hiking shoes, baseball cap, and or my white shoes, and sometimes I do wear a bandana, but not for the reasons of the music… You understand what I mean folks… If it were me, I would get the patrons together and hire a lawyer to fight that one. IF the club wants the bad element out, then maybe they do need to change their music format, since sometimes it does seem to cause violence in some instances.

[bodytext] => The statement made: No bandanas, no baseball caps, and no timberland type shoes
I’m appalled at this statement, why should it be banned from the clubs?
I don’t go there, just a point to make, why should all pay the dues?
Of those few who act in a gang or teen phase whatever of all this hub-a-lub…
They will just wear something else, so why ban the clothes…
No matter what they wear, Will this clothing, whatever that would be, banned too?
Perhaps changing a music format, would keep bad elements away they pose?
oh, But It’s ok for young gals to wear very little, next to nothing…
But ban clothes that because of certain music genre clues…
Give me a BREAK!! It use to be wear a tie, shoes and top, no bluffing
So I; who wear those timberland type shoes, all kinds of hiking gear mind ya!!
And my backpack and bandana and white shoes in the summer, I do…
Should decide to go with a friend and or a drink; Blah, Blah, Blah…
It’s not my style really, just a point to make cool
Am I getting thru, does it make sense
I just know its wrong for clubs to ban the normal clothing makes
For certain kinds of musical influence
Why next it will be public dancing clubs in the nude, for goodness sakes!!!
And God forbid that, no clothes there to worry about!!!!
So, the clubs want the money, the music is hot and cool to some folks
IF I was banned because of what normal clothing I wear, I would shout
To get all patrons together, get a lawyer, and get them club blokes!!!!
Its discrimination, wrong to say my clothes is wrong to wear
The music is not why I do wear them, so why should I and others be banned????
Don’t accuse and abuse the rights of all, just move the business elsewhere
So if and when the music needs to be enjoyed, perhaps staying at home is a cooler hand!!!

Hi rose,
Very good write!
It's been my observation over the years that there are lots of folks out there that have nothing better to do but dictate to others and cause kaos.
Much of our planet, sadly, has just run amuck.
It's good that you stand up to your beliefs.
Again very good!
PEACE, LUV, JOY,
emy

Humanity is only getting worse i have argued this statement with people more times than i can remember, i personally don't think anyone should be allowed to tell us what we should and should not wear.....i think if they allow it to be bought out on the racks in the stores and in magazines then they should allow it to be worn where we please......this here makes no sense...take a look....

Magazines sell clothes but once you buy them you cannot wear them. HELLO lol..

Gas stations sell cigarettes but you cannot smoke them once you buy them here. HELLO lol

Makes me feel like saying HERE'S YER SIGN lmao....thanks for sharing this one it definately get's the message through ....great write....
