it has been fifteen years
since you left us all here
and now we miss you so
even though we don't let it show
we cried so many tears
for all these lost years
fifteen years ago dad
we lost everything we had
when you died.

everyone who said it gets eaiser
well daddy they lied
it don't get any eaiser
and the pain dont' go away
how would life be if you would stay
we will never know
all we know is life has changed
since you choose to drink
and then choose to drive
why dad
you should still be alive
but you drank, and you drove
and you died..;l.

From the bottom of my heart I thank you-
I have a daughter of 16 and wondered what she would feel should this be my demise.
I have been to the point of no return for a time now and have not remembered things that ihave done or places that I have been...
Thanks to you I may be one step closer to getting back to the man that I once called myself...
Joe

That was a very good poem. I am so sorry for your loss. The loss of a parent is one of the hardest things to go through. My Mother died 7 years ago and I still miss her like crazy. Writing is good, you can get out that pain you feel. It's ok to be angry with him and it's ok to miss him. It is ok to grieve for as long as you want. The pain does lessen and you will feel better, but you will always love & miss him. My thoughts are with you. Good job on the poem.
