[bodytext] => i've denounced the crusifix
Dad, your god rejected me
i'm tired of being yelled at about sin
i pray to the pagan gods to save me

the earth is green beneath my feet
i feel it's energy flow through me
the air sings it's wind song
the fire speaks of my adventures to come
the water cools my pains and wounds

through this i have found peace
so why do you label it wrong
dad i wish i could tell of all
of my faith and of what i am
but a salem witch trial is not for me
my belief isn't evil it sets me free [comments] => 3 [counter] => 194 [topic] => 11 [informant] => Sonic_phoenix [notes] => [ihome] => 0 [alanguage] => english [acomm] => 0 [haspoll] => 0 [pollID] => 0 [score] => 12 [ratings] => 3 [editpoem] => 1 [associated] => [topicname] => ChristianPoetry )

This is really good . Good for you. Stand up for your beliefs. With a well written poem no less. Good luck with your dad.

A strong poem defending your beliefs. Very well written.
If your dad is still on you about it--------
I would ask him to read Hebrew 11:6--- Any one who sincerly seeks God shall find Him---The key is to be sincere and honest with yourself.
The truth is your dad worrys about your soul and after you and he pass this world he wishes to have you near him for eternity with God.
I would only offer one bit of advice---that is to pray to Your God and ask Him where He wants you to be.
Your Creater will lead you--- be sincere and He will lead you to where He wants you to be.
May Your Creater bless you.
Very good write.

i was brought to this poem because of the title and my own beliefs. ive been somewhat christian, agnostic, athiest etc over the years, and im always inbetween something or other. i liked this one a lot, it reminds me of my older work, except you dont ramble like i did. =]
