I posted this poem on the old site and read it and thought I should post it again. So yeah hope it gets the same response as last time!* [bodytext] => Why do I walk this road?
So cold and lonely
So hard
So often
I stumble and fall
And I look for some comfort
And as I look at you
My face streaked with dirt and tears
My eyes streaked with rejection and fear
You laugh at my pain
And you turn away

Nearly giving up
I dont know what to do
I find myself down again
How I fell I dont know
It just seems a normal tendency

Why do I walk this road?
In the depths of despair
Living does not seem an option
I feel as if I've been failed
Or did I fail myself?
Why was I given
This hard road?
If it is to keep another friend
From walking it, gladly
If it is only to torment me
Then why?
If it is to strengthen me
Then why this method?

I am going through quicksand now
I am stuck
I am weak
My throat aches
From calling for help
But no help seems to come
I am sinking!
My rescuer
Whomever you are
Come quickly

Why do I walk this road?
I'll try to reach the end
Even though its hard
Fraught with torment and danger
But I'll try...

Joel, this is a beautiful write

"Why was I given
This hard road?
If it is to keep another friend
From walking it, gladly"

That quote alone shows how strong and caring you are...there is a reason for everything in life...I hope you find yours

Joel, this poem brings back so many feeling that ive felt. Feeling as if life is a road where we cannot turn back and there are no exits.

These words really got to me :
"I feel as if I've been failed
Or did I fail myself?
Why was I given
This hard road? "

They make me wonder why we get these "roads" that are so hard to walk through. Thanks :)
