my shadow casted on the floor
and all my soul within me churning
with a yearning to outpour
all the sadness and the sorrow,
wishing vainly for the 'morrow
when suddenly I thought to borrow
all our memories of before...

So without a grin or smile,
all the while...all the while
like a footstep in a mile,
I though of what this thought was for...

what and why this painful thought
had jus' occured to me before.

So collecting all my senses
and in all of my defenses
(careful not in false pretenses)
I found her face and thought some more...

But the tears within me streaming
had, while I continued dreaming
of a life that once was teeming
of the happiness we bore,
brought me yet one more reminder
of a life that once was kinder...
I only wish again to find her
and scent the perfume that she wore...

But fate has dealt a different hand
and like a tiny grain of sand,
I search for her in all the land
but still I find her nevermore.

How very Edgar Allan Poeish of you! : ) A piece to be
proud of for sure, Billy. Simply divine. Sweet, yet sad.
Lovely, yet forlorn. Such brilliant emotion! And exquisite
writing, from one of my very favourite poets!
