Oh how false fortune is faded,
A jade cloud over my thoughts,
The drugs I’ve seen,
The places I’ve been,
I’ve made the wrong turns from the start.

Did you say you missed me?
Still no one listens to me,
After all its my actions that count,
And I’ve seen no amount,
Of love from the outside,
Because I could never make a sound.

So who’s fault is it?
And as my vision blurs with tears,
I realize the years have flied,
Fourteen, fifteen, and sweet sixteen,
Time has passed me by,
Now 18 washes ashore on the broken tides.

But I passed time by,
I lied to myself in wait for you.
Propositions I wish I could have seen through,
I have many decisions I wish to unmake,
And I will always hold in my heart some faith,
For a snapshot of your smiling face,
A keepsake of the truth, I long to make.

Confusion and false happiness,
Given by the image I wear,
Pot smoker since 16,
I Tried not to care,
But it makes one so bare,
On the inside, and divided from myself,
I lied,
In wait for you.
My beautiful lie, my life,
I'm waiting for you.

Time shrouded my devotion,
And soon my devotion was shrouded,
By the time I waited,
And I allways thought of you,
But I could never see my actions through.

And now I stand on my side of the ocean,
The dream has flown,
The child has grown,
The perch I have reached,
I am so high,
But get so low,
My life a screaming solo,
Without you.

And now my voice screams for you,
But I feel the person I’ve become,
Is just so damned numb,
The perfect 1.

[ii] I've Found Life in Love

I may look happy now on the outside,
But within I die,
With every glance,
Dying to say “I love you”

Dying to rip myself from the shy tides that wash me around,
Dying to make up for the times I’ve floundered,
The many times I’ve let us down,
Dying to say I love you,
Before shyness locks me inside.

What I’ve done, and who I’ve become,
The lows the highs with God as my guide,
Now building a bridge to cross the divide,
Still with no pride,
Because I am without you.

The false identity I have embraced,
To disguise my sorrow, has been erased.
That biggest flaw has left me love crazed,
And now I wake up out of the daze,
And everywhere I see your smiling face.

Let the truth shine through,
Let me start anew,
I just wanted to say,
I love you.
