so paved with gold
no shadows linger
there untold

No trees
no darkness
that is where she runs
she can't stand to run at night

so she runs in open meadows
river valleys and the such
places deemed so safe by man
but forever left untouched

for men travel in thick forests
surrounded by the dark
just torches lit by devils;
dark, notorious

danger it surrounds them
darkness is its name
that's why she runs away from there
away from her dying flame

she can't go back to pathing
blazing her own trail
afraid of where it might just lead
and so she's running scared

fear is hard to follow
it harder even to catch
so that's why no ones bothered
they stay on the trails they mesh

Running Running Running....
fear makes her blood run cold
Running Running Running....
her story left untold

I have read this 6 times and I have no clue what you're saying. Michelle and Jennie obviously get it, so I'm clearly missing something. Wouldn't be the first time, I guess, lol. The movement of the poem is good and conveys the fear and the images are strong... just that I can't seem to connect the dots. Still, worth 5 stars, just to make me stop and think :)
