Unexpected Change

Contributed by curtisc on Tuesday, 3rd May 2005 @ 11:45:44 PM in AEST
Topic: LostLove

It's hard when things don't go the way you expect them to,
especially when you thought it was so for sure.
It was nothing I did or didn't do,
now I'm left with all this pain to endure.

I really wish things would've worked out differently,
in my eyes we still belong together.
I know she didn't try and hurt me intently,
but once again, another storm for me to weather.

I'm usually for the most part pretty stress free,
but this really hits me hard.
I don't think anything much worse could happen to me,
my heart will be forever scarred.

I thought we had something going here,
but I guess she didn't feel the same.
I wonder if she even shed a tear,
as the gust of wind blew out our flame.

There isn't much hope for the two of us anymore,
I think it's pretty much coming to a close.
It might be time to just shut the door,
move on in life and see where it goes.

I agree with Ben...things happen, or don't happen for a reason. I really liked the 2nd to the last verse. Great write. Tanya
