and our journey sets the mode,
of the way each one is furnished,
as we walk along life's road.
How blessed when there are treasures
along the bends we go
pearls of tender nurturing,
gems of love to know.
How bright must be those chambers,
so snug and warm and free,
but visualise one not as blessed,
more like.... sheer misery.
How sad to walk the lonely road,
with mostly frowns to see,
few flowers of love to gather,
slight trace of warmth to be.
Scarce jewels of joy to sparkle,
sparse comfort to behold,
no pity for ones stumbling,
rare hopes to shine as gold.
My friends, the chambers of my life,
were dusty drab and dark,
my soul hid there,
(where demons scare)
and no light would embark.
Insecure and frightened,
I breathed an anxious prayer,
that's when God sent an angel
to tell me
HE... was there.
I prayed,
that God would hold me tight,
and never let me go,
his mercy shone upon me,
(such radiance to know).
I took his hand,
it helped me stand,
so once more I could see,
no more afraid of living,
or how tough life could be.
He led me to the window,
and pulled the drapes apart,
'till all the room was sunshine,
(it even filled my heart.)
His work with me is still not done,
each chamber takes its toll,
so many places left to mend,
with him I'll reach this goal.
I'm dusting childhood's cobwebs...
from corners where I've cried,
and pulling thorn vines from the doors,
that once entrapped a bride.
I'm filling rooms with 'yellow'
in honour of his light,
I try to fill each corner,
with colours sunshine bright.
Old Lucifer would rather,
I withered in the shade,
with chambers dark and dismal,
with soul ...lost and afraid.
I will not give him what he wants...
for God the Father's here,
and carefully his angels guard
so I've no need to fear.
Each day we work together,
to make old chambers new,
not ever will God leave me,
he watches all I do.
how blessed I am
that I have walked,
this journey laced with pain,
for I have known 'HIS rescue,'
SUCH LOVE...Words...CAN'T explain.
