Array ( [sid] => 93055 [catid] => 1 [aid] => mick [title] => Jodie Lane [time] => 2005-05-02 17:02:40 [hometext] => I was watching the 6 Oclock news today when a story of a young girls death, just from walking on the street, came on. She was with her mom and some electric malfunction shocked her to her death where she stood. I never knew her. Her name was Jodie Lane. [bodytext] => As the sun sets down on Jodie Lane
Only the boulevard is left to blame
I am only a witness, my oath in vain

A Highway runs overhead
The overpass is painted red
Gasoline and oil,
The cars have been fed

The parking lot deserted of trees
Shadows grow thin and weak
The rubber burns
The tire squeals

The lamp post flutters,
Deadening, shining dim
Intertwined electrical wiring
The cables from within

Promises of an oasis, free of pain
A poetic justice-
Decades of mourning on Jodie Lane

Standing on guard, soldiers with guns
A crime scène, officially
The yellow tape surrounds all the fun

“Caution, do not enter”, screaming all around
Children are lost,
Then quickly found, dead,
I read in newspaper in town

This is there last season, this is the last rain
That was their daughter down on Jodie Lane!
