Array ( [sid] => 92896 [catid] => 1 [aid] => mick [title] => The Moonless Night [time] => 2005-05-01 06:59:47 [hometext] => I yearned to see the beautiful moon one night. I went to the terrace only to find that the day was a no moon day. With a disappointed return, I wrote this poem relating the moon's absence to the great people who're remembered in their absence. [bodytext] => I went up the stairs
One night late in the hours
To adore the greatest pleasure
That's come in the name of Nature.

The Stars were shining bright;
Soothing Breeze adding to the delight
Composed tunes for me to hark
And for the Trees to dance in the dark

The Sky lacked its usual splendour yet
With the Moon hiding its light.
The night Traveller's absence did disappoint
However, from it, a truth I learnt.

"Men come and men go like
Waves in the Seashore of life!
Only they're remembered - who reach heights
And make their absence a true loss"

Welcome to the site. A nice posting. That pesky New Moon, couched in shadows - still there but hiding in plain sight. Never mind. there are 21 more days for its beauty to emerge.
