As I recall ~

It was
insignificant ... really
Barely an inch ...
inch and a half long at best
Lying there
at the bottom of the bottle

And I remember ~

Staring at it
between pours
as it rolled and swayed
The liquid's movement
appeared to
restore it to life

I laughed ~

at the illusion
that it moved
Even after the contents
of the bottle had settled
Knowing the impossibilities
Marveling at the manifestations
of intoxication

Good piece of work written very nicely. Its amazing how people see things and how they write it out. Poetry is such art that everyone views different that’s why I love it so much. Keep up the good writes so and take care….Steve

Ah, tequila.... been there, tried that and became drunk in a way that would compare to none other.... Yep.... I get this.

Love the title, btw. I spotted it in barnfinch's comment section a bit ago and, not knowing it was yours, thought I'd check it out. I would have been here earlier... but got distracted which right about now, seems rather amusing or ironic or something.

Between pours,
~Snem~

Nice work. After enough tequila you don't even feel it slide down your throat. I love the song too.

Hmmmmmmmm..... You sure you didn't have one sip, Nazzy? LOL. Just kiddin', my friend. Deliciously intoxicating, these words, these images... Beautiful, surreal, simply perfect... Loved it. Not a big fan of the drink as well.. I'm more of a Sangria wine type of girl... But don't tell La Mere that, LOL! ;-) You're always creating new ways to amaze us, cheri. Thank you so much for sharing this with us. All my love. Forever,

Your dear friend/fan,

Stephy! *I'm with Mothy! Cinco de Mayo is in 3 days! Tie one on, everyone! Oh....yeah.... I mean... drinking is bad........... lol. Awesome piece cheri.*

Wow. Interesting.

I have never recieved such inspiration from tequila, nor its preserved sub-animalia companion. That you could be so, and write a well-crafted poem therefrom, says... something... about you. What, I have no clue. But something.

*wink*

Illusions of life, yes. I can totally relate to that right now. Nice poem - makes me think of tequila and baja ca. I haven't had the experience but I've had friends that have. Good write.
