Double Sided

Contributed by InexactExactness on Thursday, 26th December 2002 @ 10:20:00 PM in AEST
Topic: DarkPoetry

Doubled up on circumstance
To give to the world around
One person here yet
Someone different there
This is just how I am

This is how I've grown up to be
This is how I live
It's the only way I can go home at night
And fall to sleep in my bed

You assume I'm the same
From a different life
One where I was weak and frail
Now I'm different but you can't tell
You're still stuck on memory lane

But it's not just you
Everyone is
They see me through different eyes
They want to believe I'm the greatest thing
But then again it's all just lies

Two people inside one body
Two faces reside on one mask
Double everything over
Launch me from my past

Launch me from this future
Where everyone's so mislead
I want them to see how I really am
I want them to see how I'm bred

I don't really care about much
I don't feel as though it matters
When everything else is said and done
You're just always left with yourself

That's just the way I live
It's the way I get to sleep
It's the way I love to be
It's how I have faith in living

Without it I'd crumble
My stability would be gone
Without it I'd die
and fall

I had trouble concentrating to read it. What were you saying again?
