A journey shaped by soft and nervous steps Like a child learning , so carefully she treads Unsure of the path beneath her feet Did she stumble on this road before ? Crash to her knees, smitten by a storm Cold winds blew on the love she trusted Ravaged the union, tore it apart The heart demands but the mind restrains One is the bird, the other the earth A flight of belief, of wishes and dreaming Snares in the branches, roots it to the ground The new way ahead is dark and untrodden No markers to follow and no-one to guide Succumb to the realm of familiar and safe Or strike out more boldly, run deep into night?
