The world of beauty
Starts to disappear
As I still breathe
And come near.

I touch a leaf soothingly
Only for the wet paint
To rub off onto me
In heart wrenching pain
Of being flawed unwillingly.

The stream gleaming in the light
Is not as beautiful as the starlit sky
With the suffocating darkening night
Now dripping in the painted lies
That were once pure white.

I see
At least,
The beauty
Of a masterpiece

Ruined flawlessly. [comments] => 10 [counter] => 184 [topic] => 13 [informant] => essentially9 [notes] => [ihome] => 0 [alanguage] => english [acomm] => 0 [haspoll] => 0 [pollID] => 0 [score] => 18 [ratings] => 4 [editpoem] => 1 [associated] => [topicname] => DarkPoetry )

Sheesh Jen. Blow me away why don't you?

I adore this. Especially all the stanza's after the first one.. lol. I think they are...louder? They stand out more, and I love the message and image behind them.

And that last line.. I could go on forever...

Great write,
*hugs* Phil xxx

Your poems always touch the heart of me, as

though reaching out in desperation, not only

do i read them, but through your words i feel

you hurt as well, simply beautiful writting . . .

OH! lol, it's extremely hard for me to describe the kind of knee-jerk reaction I got from reading that last line! lol it was amazing! I actually made a weird *shocked* kind of noise, just because once i read it I couldn't believe you said that. lol, but anyways the kind of descriptions you've given here of the sky, the water, and everything in between was stupendous(lol, just finished watching some looney tunes cartoons) and it was really a treasure in writing. Great stuff here.
