Turn the trees to concrete,
And blow out all the stars,
Send the wind a-moaning,
And silence the guitars.
Let the rivers change direction,
Make the sun rise in the west,
The leaves go brown in springtime,
Until nothing good is left.

Stop the singers voices,
And the the poets written word,
Till the silence overwhelms me,
And no sound can be heard,
Then turn off all the daylight,
And light up all the night,
Switch grass around to gravel,
Until nothing left is right.

Close all the doors and windows,
Don't let the people breathe,
Freeze the ocean surface,
Let the rain come down and grieve,
Turn sand to ash upon the shore,
Stop the clouds appear somehow,
Make cooling rain sting and burn,
It doesn't matter now..

[Turn away the people, wanting,
Smirk as life becomes cold,
I know that you never really cared,
I hope you're happy with the world..]

WOW!

Geez, Philly.... this... this is just fabulously done. Awesome write, hunni. I'm not about to muck it up with a big rambling comment either. I'm going back for a re-read...

I'm glad you don't mean it. D**N Phil, I hate to say it but this is one of your best. I hope things are okay, and I hope you know I *do* care about you. And BTW, please leave me a comment on my journal so I can add you too. *hugs* J.

Phil, I would seriously put this in the "best poem of the day" forum, but I haven't been able to find it anywhere lately! I think it has disappeared.

Really though....you're amazing. Truly amazing.

Love, Jenna

What a beautiful picture you paint, i always do

2 things with your peices, 1. read it, 2. read it

again, did i say 2? meant 3, and 3? i sit and

look at it and think, i actually know the person,

who wrote this work of art. **********

The emotions you did were just incredible.

A powerful write, masterfully written. One view might be one of dissappointment and cynicism; or perhaps all the things this other person might miss out on.....

Anyway, a very cleverly written poem

Great job

Will

Seriousdly tho, this flows so well and the theme and cosistancy of the piece are well constructed.

After reading this poem, I think I should become a reader only...
What the energy flow...
Shocked, choked and petrified...
