Array ( [sid] => 9196 [catid] => 1 [aid] => Mick [title] => I envy you [time] => 2002-12-24 22:20:00 [hometext] => Back in hospital and there's anorexic people there, like I was two years ago, seeing them stirs up things in me. [bodytext] => I envy you.
With your tight stomach
And sharp elbows
And the way your lips
Are pulled back ever-so slightly,
Grimace rather than grin.

You annoy me.
With your creased brow
At meal times
As you poke – disgusted at your food
Taking minutes over each
Painful mouthful.

I pity you.
With you deep, dull eyes
Brimming with distress
At the sight of an apple
And your desperate attempts to fight
With your unused knife and fork.

I am jealous of you.
With you visible bones
And blue-tinged lips
What I’d give
To wear thick coats all summer
And make my hair fall out.

I hate you.
With your bruises and bedsores
And superior air
Your perfection makes feel
So inadequate
By comparison.

You attract me.
With your striking imitation of death
And enticing games
If you were to stop breathing
You would make
Such a beautiful corpse.

You make me sick.
With your warped perceptions
And eye so critical
That it could
Burn a hole
In that convex mirror you’re forever staring at.

I’m addicted to you.
With your dependable routine
And life run by your watch
Inflexible
And consistently boring
So comfortably dull.

I want to get away from you.
With your dead body
And fast-dying mind
As far away as I can
Because I know
You’ll always haunt me.
