Oh Sweet Angel...

Topic: dedicatedpoems

Oh sweet angel
Part thy lips
Flutter close your eyes
Stay, if only for a while.

Oh sweet angel
Light of mine heart
Do not go,
Stay longer still.

Oh sweet angel,
Sad as may be
The darkness overcame,
And you: its slave
Gone away from me.

Oh now, angel,
Angel, no more,
The darkness- your new home
And I stand at your door;
Nay, a wall:
Of shadows and stone,
Locked away,

.....Chilled to the bone.

Gone away,
Never again
You, my angel: now darkest friend

Oh sweet, sweet cruelty
Bitter to bitters end,
I have lost you…

And because you’re gone,
The world weeps too,
My sweet angel…
Why did the darkness overcome you?

I keep seeking you angel,
Always searching,
Calling out your name.
I always search for you angel,
But I fail to find,
The end... is always the same.

I know these rhymes are fruitless,
And I the poor, handicapped poet once more;
But you were my inspiration,
I find myself back at your door.

You have been with the darkness for so long now,
I wonder if you see
You’re getting married to the darkness.

Do you even remember me?

Remember me, sweet angel,
If only in your dreams
For no force could ever love you,
Like the love I feel for thee

Never again will you come,
but still I wait...forever
As so the darkness overcome...

And you my lost endeavor.
