Love Will have its day

Contributed by nomie on Sunday, 17th April 2005 @ 06:27:21 AM in AEST
Topic: EmotionalPoetry

Twice have I soared above the worldly haze,
Only to be shot from the sky,
Left to die,
In the memory,

The first time I died,
It was easier that time,
The evil glint of deceit in my mind,
Was never to be seen again,

But the second time, I’m still alive,
It is harder this time,
The beautiful valley of love in my heart,
Burst its golden river banks,

But the dam, so quickly constructed,
Stopped the rich flow of life,
So the river becomes grey like stone,
Begins to crumble,

This is my river, my valley; his dam

The valley, now in winter,
Freezes in time, until the sun next finds the sky,
The rain turns to ice,
The wind blows from the south,

This life is dying,
Without the warmth it was once shown,

The sun, smothered by grey haze,
Cannot breathe or see,
Its fire, now a ghostly flame,
Trying to embrace the last spark of hope,

But when the sun is allowed its glory,
When the dam decays through time,
When the golden river can glisten,
Love will have its day.

This prize of a poem says it all. Leaves nothing to ponder over. Tells it’s well thought out story with exactly the perfect words, laid out masterfully, to get the maximum effect. This is both, a beautiful summary of a distressing moment in time, and a healthy approach to accepting what life hands out. I am very impressed with your talent, and your word art. Kudos!

John
