[bodytext] => Midnight walks on Nowhere Street, 2 a.m. ice cream melting through cracks, Wisdom lines of a timeless sidewalk, And the streetlight flickers a last sign of S.O.S., Darkness falls…blanketing me… Cool vanilla breezes, A lonely dog wanders by, Tail low and calm, He does not bark nor growl, At the shadow next to him, Only whimpers in sympathy for the desolateness, Of the emptiness I emit… A cat meows its last song, Long and shrill into the night sky, And the road stretches on… I have so much more to experience, 16 miles down, eternity to go, And where does the horizon line end? When does the ocean cease its salty legacy? I am only a dying star amongst trillions, More radiant, more beautiful, Than I… Why does a child wish upon me? Late at night, when all slumber peacefully, I am the restless insomniac, Yearning for a second of sleep, Yet, she does not croon me her sweet lullaby… The winds whisper a hymn of change, Willow trees dance a somber waltz, A dream is left hidden beneath reality, And the bleeding rose rambles on forevermore… I hear Winter in the distance, Vivaldi’s violin weeping notes of nostalgia, I am left vulnerable to melancholy, And I’m lost within past recollections once more… The Day Ruler is awakening, Gradually, my precious night ebbs away, La Luna crying “I’ll return to you!” Tears of the moon, diamonds descending upon my head… I grow weary now, Though I must stay awake, My eyes betray me, And I fall helpless into the Sandman’s arms… My story has ended, At least for now… Don’t fret; there is one more tale to tell, Then the garrulous rose, Shall ramble no more… [comments] => 4 [counter] => 194 [topic] => 43 [informant] => FleurdeSang [notes] => [ihome] => 0 [alanguage] => english [acomm] => 0 [haspoll] => 0 [pollID] => 0 [score] => 5 [ratings] => 1 [editpoem] => 1 [associated] => [topicname] => oops )
