So I don’t fully hit the ground.
Like a person I can talk to,
When there’s no one else around.

Like a rock that does some damage,
When I can’t do it myself.
Like a joke that births some smiles,
When fake ones no longer help.

Like an instant friend and listener,
When I feel like I’m alone.
Like a third shoulder I can lean on,
When I cannot use my own.

You’re so many extra things,
When I run out of what is mine.
An extra day or two,
When my own clock runs out of time.

You’re like a shoulder I take with me,
Every single place I go.
So that if my own aren’t strong enough,
I still will not hang low.

Always there prepared to fight,
When I’m to scared to fight for myself.
Like nothing I have known before,
Nothing I’ve ever felt.

Whenever I try to be everything,
That you always are for me.
I get lost and turned around,
And you put me back where I need to be.

I’ve failed at all the attempts
Of being your third shoulder so far.
Everything I want to be for you,
Is something you already are. [comments] => 3 [counter] => 163 [topic] => 2 [informant] => JacobsKK [notes] => [ihome] => 0 [alanguage] => english [acomm] => 0 [haspoll] => 0 [pollID] => 0 [score] => 35 [ratings] => 7 [editpoem] => 1 [associated] => [topicname] => LovePoetry )
