A blackened reflection stares back
One that carries burdens
Producing palpitations of panic attacks
The face in the mirror used to be elegant
Like a princess with a crown
Until you entered her life
From then she suffered and went down
She endured excruciating pain
To every part of her body
She's far too long sustained
No longer a thing of prodigy
Where is the princess
That once wore a noble crown
Now she lays battered and abused
Humiliated, laughed at like a clown
Beauty once adorned from this fragile heart
Sadly that is all lost
Broken deeply and shattered apart
Tears sear this blackened face
They do their dance everyday
As the reflection in the mirror
Chokes on the lump in her airway
She always turns to the mirror
In hope the reflected face is unmasked
Searching for the true hidden image
Waiting to emerge and once again bask [comments] => 5 [counter] => 195 [topic] => 48 [informant] => mina-1 [notes] => [ihome] => 0 [alanguage] => english [acomm] => 0 [haspoll] => 0 [pollID] => 0 [score] => 10 [ratings] => 2 [editpoem] => 1 [associated] => [topicname] => EmotionalPoetry )
