the idealized version of itself
nostalgia turns childhood into
a landscape of innocent recklessness)

I did not know, then,
what I wish I did not know now
that I can dive into the
darkest of overindulgence
and learn to drink from your intensity

and I almost wish it was rape

I almost wish I did not have to accept
that I can enjoy
something so sick
that humanity can crave this
that your mind can jump
from blood to lust,
and worse, I can follow you there
to that place
where pain and fear are all mixed up
with sex and pleasure

I almost wish…
and the wish makes me less of myself
because to me
rape will always be far better
than consensual pain

This is one of those that is really difficult to comment on.. without knowing the author in a personal way... but when is comes to the written word. it was put together well.

I agree, this is one of those poems that you dont comment on because you dont know the individual who wrote it, but all knowing aside this was well done, and I do hope that this is just you writing words and not something that happend to you. God bless

I can comment on this...because i do know the author *smile* Your poetry's getting dark lately m'love...but it's good. Twisted, a bit, but honest of things that humans can feel. I like the last lines, 'rape will always be far better than consensual pain'. True. Powerful.
