Blood streams down your cold blue face,
Death in your frosted eyes begins to take place.
Still as the night, unconscious of who’s there,
You know it’s not me, but him you should fear.

The blood drips further, off your chin to your bruised breast,
Purple, blue and dark amber patterns from his fist on your chest.
Why did your sweet tender lips for so long stay quiet,
Either way you could not have prevented this riot.

I walk in to find you drowning in the water of life,
A blood soaked carpet, he sits crying with his knife.
“forgive me..I don’t know what I’ve done, I didn’t mean it, please”
He whimpers, drenched in Angel’s blood begging on his knees.

My anger boils, I take the bloodied knife from his hand,
Conflicting thoughts in my mind, trying to understand.
I raise my strengthening arm, amazed at what I’m about to do,
About to strike down, before hearing faint words “I love you”.

I turn to see the frost melting from her eyes,
For she was not the one today meant for the skies.
I embrace her once more, telling her it’s the end,
She is now my Angel who from here on in I’ll defend.

Angel’s Blood
