The whole planet watches
as we bid you goobye.
You've earned your rest
as victory is neigh.

One mind, one accord
your great message
of peace.
Such devotion brings
our planet to it's knees.

Peace flows from God's throne
at such admiration from all.
One great man goes home.
Rest as you've answered
God's call.

Millions traveled far and near
Just to be in your heavenly
presence.
Even in death your light shines.
An Earhtly vessle holiness
you possesed.

No one can fill your shoes.
Humbly we say our goodbyes.
Your memory shall linger on
as your spirit has touched
our lives.

I am thrilled and impressed to see you wrote a poem about the pope. He did have a peaceful nature and a rather brilliant mind. He spoke numerous languages and he embraced many religions from Protestant to Judaism--with the notion of peace.

Whether you are catholic or not, the late pope I believe left an impression on the world. Now the world waits to see when the Cardinals will go into Conclave and begin the process of electing a new pope. Will there be black smoke or white smoke in the days to come? I think it will be hard shoes to fill. Even when the announcement "habemus papam" is made--Pope John Paul II will still be one of those unforgettable people.

I've rambled alot here Em. I'm glad you wrote this poem and thought you did an excellent and incredible job of making a point.

We are all people, regardless of religion preference and we must learn to love and respect each other.

Kie

Emy a wonderful tribute to a great man, I myself am a firm believer in PEACE for all of this world as was the Pope. I am not a believer in the sense that I go to Church but a prayer can be said at any time of day or place. This is my belief. Hugs from bernard.
