Burning Blue

Contributed by Dri on Friday, 8th April 2005 @ 05:45:02 PM in AEST
Topic: oops

I am appalled
by the endless façade
forever splitting hairs
forever drowning in my own delusions
I could drink you down and you'd never feel a thing

but you burn
and I am steel,
so flexible in your flame
bending in the face of sheer will
what color do I burn in your eyes?
you've told me I burn blue

and I never understood
just quite what you meant
until now
I wonder if you realize
that when I look up
and all I can see is blue smoke
I know you are near
when the heat pours off
and I find myself molded to my own indecisiveness again

burning blue
so busy burning for your hand on my own
I've never drowned
but the flame is choking all this out
dissolve into the air and watch myself fade

you said I burn blue
sitting, watching the stars explode with you
burning blue
but your flame is black
and I can't help but let it taint my hue

I like this a lot a lot a lot. It's really well written and very....well, this isn't the right word, but philisophical. Whatever I mean, it's good.

I really like this one too. Intense. Good imagery.

Poetry is much like a great photo, a single "moment in time" capturing many feelings and emotions. Yet, they are very alive; creating stirrings within the readers who form visual "pictures" of the expressed emotions within the Poem. ©
