It was the brightest, clearest moon
that I had ever seen;
a silver crescent crown of light
for the night’s celestial queen.
The beauty viewed from Earth below
was soothing to the eye
of all whose gaze was cast toward
the Earth’s bright moon-lit sky.
Maybe, in their fantasy,
God’s canvas up above
took the shape of oceans,
with their churning froth of love.
Perhaps its vivid glow caressed
the foamy puffs of white
that ships sail on in turbulence,
on heaven’s sea of night.
The enchantment of the evening
with its moon and stars so bright
was a lover’s tale repeated,
since the first of mankind’s nights.
Still … lovers made their promises,
of commitments ‘till they die;
while the moon-bright night embraced them
with its magic from on high.
It WAS the brightest, clearest moon
that I had ever seen…
on the night of my marriage proposal
to my little high-school queen!

A perfect title.

It is obvious that you bask in and cherish what you have. That in itself is a blessing.

May forever be always for you both.

Wonderful poem.

Kie
