Just what would happen,
If I held my breath,
And just never let it go...
(And then sometimes....

And other days I wonder,
If we really do need daylight,
Or if the dark would be better,
So we would never know,
If what we wanted,
Was right in front of us.

And without the air,
Without the light,
I could be fine, maybe,
Nothing would matter anymore,
Nothing would hurt.
It would just...be..

And sometimes I wish...

I could watch,
As invisible nothings,
Would fly in front of my eyes.
Tiny little specks of now,
Distracting me,
From the suffocating air...

That was beautiful Phil ... you ever decide to try and hold your breath that long and I'll poke you ... See * lifts pokie finger * You better not try it ... I'll do it I swear. Take a big breath of air and back away from the dark !!!

Gosh.

I go to that place myself sometimes... sometimes not even knowing why. I wrote Wanting Not The Light a long while back... I'm not thrlled with the piece.. but something about it... well... still hits me the way this one does.

This piece is more relatable to me than some of your others. i don't know if that's why I like it so much... but, I absolutely do. Of course, your thought processes may have been quite different than my own as you wrote this... but... regardless, I can lose myself in this.

*hugs*

I sat here and absorbed your poem for about fifteen minutes. It says so much and its beyond the term "poetical".

Its those invisible ponderings, the depth that most cannot pen nor ponder.

I was simply, amazed.

There is something captivating about yout poem. In a profound way it seems to deal with one's state of mind.... your state of mind?

One needs to breath to exist.... one needs to want to breath to live. To feel our pain is to be alive, no matter how bad it hurts. I hope i'm not off base here, or preachy.

Great poem
Hope things are ok, Will
