Behind her gemstone- like green eyes A sad girl cries Behind her makeup coated face Her true self is hidden in a secret place Under her triple padded bra Her heart is twisted and distorted She looks in the mirror and she cries But all she’s looking at are lies Mascara, lipstick and blush Its all just way to much And this mask she hides behind Where her broken soul slowly dies She cries out “I’m too fat!” But her friends discourage that She doesn’t even trust her own best friend Her battle with the mirror seems to never end Her beautiful smile are forced to hide The broken girl that lives inside And behind her milky- white skin A shattered soul lives within Why can’t she see that she is beautiful? Her life could be so fun If she’d step away from the mirror And set free the girl within her.
