Warm sand between my searching toes,
I glance at the sapphire masterpiece before me,
And wonder where the horizon line ends…

Merciless waves torrenting over a brave soul,
Weary, yet determined,
He swims forward,
Everlasting strength in this ocean of life…
I hear the call of the seagull above me,

“Come, dear friend, and fly…”

Kissed by the Day Ruler,
A crown of sunrise around my head,
I feel her comforting embrace,
She welcomes me to her endless cerulean solitude…

My heart spreads its wings,
I break away my chains,
The winds of change sift through my feathers,
And I’m soaring…

I
Am
Free…

This poem reminded me of an eye of a hurricane....peaceful, yet only a break between the devestation. I'm happy that you can find moments like these, moments where you can feel free. I really identify with the feeling of looking out over the ocean, and feeling blown away by how it seemingly goes on infinitely.....it's a perfect metaphore for life.....

I loved the first stanza.

Languishing on miles of Time,
Warm sand between my searching toes,
I glance at the sapphire masterpiece before me,
And wonder where the horizon line ends…

I loved it because you perfectly encapsulated one single moment, in words, which really expresses something that is beyond words. I love the "stillness" and the "awe" or "wonder" that this evokes. To me, that feeling is freedom.

Be True,
zenmind

I've read through some of your other poems and liked every one but it is this one that gave me a shiver inside. I feel that shiver only when something hits me deeply and I love the poems which do.

she welcomes me to her endless cerulean solitude...

and ..... I Am Free

You have inspired me with these words.
hope to read more soon. truly , doug
