Array ( [sid] => 90004 [catid] => 1 [aid] => mick [title] => The World [time] => 2005-04-05 16:30:14 [hometext] => I wrote this poem thinking about what has been going on in this world today. what do you think????????? [bodytext] => I checked in for a moment
to see the world at hand
and what I saw was shocking
both here and distant lands

The world is going crazy
I think they've lost their minds
To much information
They cannot see the signs

They will not let go
of those who are gone
Trying to make decisions
they know inside are wrong

Fighting a war
they know we won't win
Like Viet Nam
all over again

In sandy desserts
where peace never reigned
They send all our troops
to die and be maimed

They bow to a man
They call him the pope
Sit him in a window
like a puppet on a rope

He knew it was time
He said his good-byes
Like all of us mortals
everyone dies

This life that we live in
sometimes makes no sense
afraid of reality
we live in pretense

The music they're singing
of greed and deceit
as people are killed
from hate on the streets

The president says
to save on our own
There is no more money
the economy's blown

The pooer get poorer
What's left for tomorrow
We humble ourselves
as we beg, steal and borrow

Send us away
Lock us up in a cell
At least we are safe
