who gave their lives,
because ours were not meaningless
Even upon hard times they kept focus,
they saved our lives by choice and because they must

We ungrateful beings of now
don't appreciate the hard time in their lands

For every punch to the face,
whip to the back,
we show our respect by
getting cuffed, or going on an attack

For every bloody hand from a cotton field,
by one of us our own people are killed

For every rape that they let slide,
three lost ones look for someone in which to confide

Yet once again Feburary is here,
plain month to some, but our of us should flow tears
Even to some of our own kind,
this isn't a valuable time

Lives were given, taken,
charges were filed, unseriously taken,
dragged everywhere,
some embarrashingly naked
Gone but in our hearts, are awakened
Dreams jarred,
but never broken
But even alive we still feel the rope
around our necks as it tightens
But even at death's end
they went on fighting
History in the making

We are the real embarrashments
With our club hopping, chart topping,
trash talking, bra chopping,
lung blocking, heart stopping,
no good generation

We should feel the pressure
like a mother's cruel love,
but devotion and determination

We should be making them proud
instead...they suffered and died useless deaths [comments] => 2 [counter] => 194 [topic] => 32 [informant] => Rogue [notes] => [ihome] => 0 [alanguage] => english [acomm] => 0 [haspoll] => 0 [pollID] => 0 [score] => 10 [ratings] => 2 [editpoem] => 1 [associated] => [topicname] => SadPoetry )

One word, "Wow". I am completely taken back by this true work of art. Great job on such a sad and difficult subject. Keep up the amazing work.
